NOTE: The representative in the chat room primarily assists those in the State of Florida for the Division of Blind Services – however, they can provide resources to help those in other states find their state or local office or other employment resources for the vision impaired.
Goal
The goal of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is to assist an individual in achieving or maintaining an employment outcome that is consistent with his/her unique strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests and informed choice.
Eligibility
Individuals must have a visual impairment in both eyes and require vocational rehabilitation services to obtain, maintain, or retain an employment outcome.
Services
Types of services may include:
- Vocational Training
- Job Placement
- Trial Work Experience
- On-the-Job Training
- Career Counseling and Guidance
- Job Modification including Adaptive Technology
